A woman in her twelfth month of pregnancy is unable to give birth. Desperate to finally hold her child in her arms, she sets out on a journey with a new-age midwife to meet a shaman who lives in isolation deep in the woods. The road, the physical strain, and the misunderstandings with the elderly midwife, caused by the woman’s secret that she is carrying a bear’s child, force her to confront herself, her limits, and to decide whether to continue the search alone or turn back. In the dense, dark forest, something both attracts and terrifies her. The session with the shaman, a dark and enigmatic man, reveals that the reason the child cannot be born is rooted in her fears; one in particular.
